Eriro, Tyrol, Austria

High in the Tyrolean Alps, at 1,550 metres, Eriro is a minimalist hideaway opening this season. With just nine suites and views of the Zugspitze massif, it’s one of the smallest and most secluded mountain retreats in the Alps. Rooted in traditional craftsmanship yet pared back to its essence, Eriro offers an escape where wellness is woven into every detail. Its spa, inspired by wazzar (the old German word for water), flows between three pools, saunas and a sound room that opens onto the forest. The philosophy is slow and sensory: heat and cold, water and stone. Days unfold through alpine hikes, skiing, snowshoe trails, and the hantwerc-atelier, where guests can learn wood carving and crafts. The cuisine is equally elemental, with bold, seasonal, and local dishes. eriro.at
