AB Yachts - Next Yacht Group

History

Italian luxury yacht builder AB Yachts was founded in 1992. From the beginning, the shipyard helped to pioneer the use of water jet drives to power its high performance yachts. In 2001, AB Yachts was acquired by the Fipa Group of yacht brands, which also includes Maiora, Intermare and CBI Navi.

AB Yachts’ philosophy has been to utilize the latest hull construction technologies, including advanced composites and resins, carbon fibre and Kevlar, to build lightweight yet strong, high performance yachts. Starting with smaller boats, the shipyard ultimately created a line of luxury production and semi-custom series models ranging from 17.70 to 42 metres, and has developed plans for superyachts up to 60.96 metres in length.

Notable Yachts

The golden-toned, 42-metre OxyZen is a state-of-the-art example of the shipyard’s craft. The first AB 140 superyacht model, she launched in 2007 featuring highly contemporary exterior and interior designs by AB Yachts in collaboration with Interin Srl & Associates. This five-stateroom luxury yacht is equipped with triple 2,400-horsepower MTU engines mated to water jet drives that give her an impressive top speed of 40 knots.

Specialisations

AB Yachts’ primary focus is on building high-tech planing yachts constructed with advanced composites for owners with “the need for speed”. Through its association the Fipa Group, the shipyard also offers refit, storage and yacht management services.
