Italian shipyard Next Yacht Group has announced the launch of both the second unit from Maiora's 36 Exuma series and the third unit from AB Yachts' flagship model, the AB 130. Both units hit the water at the yard's facilities in Viareggio and are scheduled for delivery to their owners this summer.
The first to hit the water, Maiora's second 36.9-metre 36 Exuma, was born from a collaboration between the shipyard, Quartostile and Acube Design. According to Next Yacht Group, the design stands as an evolution of a model that received "significant international success" via a new interpretation of life on the water.
A shallow draught of 1.5 metres characterises the yacht (chosen for easy access to shallow bays and harbours), paired with clean, slender lines and an interior developed to reflect a "contemporary vision of yachting". The 36 Exuma also offers high performance, with top speeds of up to 33 knots from three 2,000hp MAN V12 engines, two MJP steerable waterjets and a central MJP booster.
Accommodation is for up to 12 guests in five cabins, in addition to a crew of five across three cabins. Gyroscopic stabilisers at anchor and underway offer additional comfort. The first Maiora 36 Exuma, Lady Nina, was delivered in 2020.
The second launch from the Group marks a milestone for AB Yachts, as the third yacht launched from its flagship AB 130 line – previously described as a "new frontier". At 39.7 metres, the model represents the brand's sporty DNA with expanded volumes and an architectural approach drawn to enhance the interior-exterior connection on board.
Curated for owners seeking a combination of speed and contemporary luxury, an elongated silhouette and taut lines are powered by an advanced waterjet propulsion system offering top speeds of 41 knots. Large windows characterise the comfortable, redesigned main saloon, while above, a spacious sundeck is fitted with an open-air cinema for all-day enjoyment on deck.
The bow is dedicated to relaxation with a large lounge space, and retractable side wings at the stern offer an expanded beach area for leisure and socialising. Accommodation is for 12 guests in five cabins, with three further cabins sleeping five crew. Lightweight construction, a 7.9-metre beam, a shallow 1.3-metre draught and a gyroscopic stabiliser at anchor and underway complete the yacht's package. The shipyard delivered the first AB 130 unit, Effe, last year.
“The delivery of the AB 130 and the Maiora 36 Exuma represents a significant achievement for our shipyard,” said COO of Next Yacht Group, Fabio Giangrasso. “We met our objectives on schedule, maintaining product quality, performance and an obsessive attention to detail on board as our top priorities."
He continued: "We are pleased to have fully met the needs of both owners, confirming the shipyard’s ability to guarantee the highest standards both technically and in production. The team is motivated, united and ready to tackle the new challenges ahead with determination.”
The double launch follows news in January that the yard celebrated a record-breaking 2025, closing the year with a total order book exceeding €100 million.
