Spotlight: How Wally designed a racing champion in sailing yacht Alexia

15 March 2021

The 30.63 metre sailing yacht Alexia was delivered in 2004 and designed by Wally as the ultimate performance cruiser. With exteriors and interiors penned by Soto Acebal Naval Architects, she has secured first place in exciting regattas including the Maxi Rolex Cup and Les Voiles de Saint Tropez.

A stunning sailing yacht both inside and out, Alexia features full solid carbon rigging by OYS, a 48t water ballast and trim tab that have helped make her one of the most distinguished racing yachts of her class.

With a sail area covering a total of 476 square metres, Alexia can reach a top speed of approximately 12 knots despite her considerable size.

Below deck, Alexia offers accommodation for six guests and four members of crew. Her interiors are finished with glossy mahogany detailing and plush cream furnishings for a traditional look that encapsulates the classic sailing lifestyle.

Touches of marine blue are present in furnishings throughout, further connecting her interiors with the surrounding sea as she cuts through the waves.

As a top-performing sailing yacht, Alexia has been carefully custom-built to withstand trans-Oceanic and trans-Atlantic crossings. An added bimini for the centre cockpit ensures that Alexia is also able to comfortably sail in any type of weather.

Equipped with plenty of deck space, the The customised Wally 98 model also features a fold-out swimming platform and dining or entertaining areas below deck.

Having only had one owner since her delivery, she is in immaculate condition after having undergone a recent refit which saw new teak decking, fittings and hatches installed.

The all-white exterior of this regatta-winning sailing yacht gives her an elegant look on the water, which is matched by her impressive performance under sail.

Alexia is asking €3,800,000 with Camper & Nicholsons International.
