Cala del Forte, a new state-of-the-art marina in Ventimiglia, has opened for business.
The facility, which is designed to be the new superyacht centre of the region, officially opened on October 15 and immediately welcomed the iconic sailing yacht Tuiga. The flagship of the Yacht Club de Monaco was the first to dock at the Molo d’Onore berth.
Tuiga was followed soon after by a 50-metre superyacht and three more yachts throughout the afternoon.
Early bookings will see more than 20 yachts dock at the marina by the end of the month, while a total of 50 yachts are expected to arrive at their reserved berths by the end of the year. Meanwhile, shoreside services are shaping up, with completion scheduled for spring 2021.
Earlier this month, another four new staff members began working at Cala del Forte, comprising two more front desk operators and six line handlers in charge of mooring and maintenance. All staff have undertaken professional training programmes focused on hospitality and marina management and will report to marina manager Marco Cornacchia and bosun Giuseppe Sanfelice.
Protected naturally from the elements and located just eight nautical miles from Monaco, the Cala del Forte marina boasts 178 berths for yachts measuring over 70 metres.
Docked yachts have access to power, potable water, in-slip pump out and fuel delivery services, storage, WiFi, 24-hour security, and haul out for yachts up to 30 metres.
All services are operated under the strictest health and safety guidelines, and the efficient dock team are on hand for 24/7 support.
