Spotlight: 55m Heesen Laurentia

17 June 2020

Name: Laurentia

Builder: Heeen

Year: 2017

Length: 55 metres

Laurentia was launched in 2018 as the second in Heesen’s 55m Steel Class series. She is one of three yachts afloat built using the same technical platform and naval architecture, but each offers a distinctive design and unique spirit.

Laurentia’s sophisticated yet relaxed interiors were handled by Miami-based design firm Radyca, featuring natural hues and materials such as open-grain white oak, dark wenge wood, taupe and grey leathers, white Arabescato marble and light textured suedes.

Accommodation is for up to 12 guests in six en suite cabins. Unlike her sisterships, she features a four-cabin layout on the lower deck instead of five, allowing for larger guest accommodation, with a new, full-beam VIP suite introduced on the upper deck.

Azamanta, the first in this class, had a forward tender garage with gullwing doors. On Laurentia tenders are stored on the foredeck with a crane integrated into the navigation mast which proved more efficient from an operational standpoint and was retained for her subsequent sisterships. Elsewhere a fold-down transom door was replaced with a fixed swim platform and the original walkaround upper deck arrangement now allows for a full-beam sky lounge.

Other highlights include a 102 square metre sun deck with a Jacuzzi, sunbeds and dining area, an outdoor cinema and an extensive inventory of water toys

The next yacht available in this class is Project Pollux, with an interior by Bannenberg & Rowell Design. Project Pollux is available for sale and due for delivery in October 2020.
