The 40 metre motor yacht Eleonora III, listed for sale by Dean Anthony at Allied Marine as recently as July 2019, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Guillermo Yanes at Yanes Yachting in December 2019.
Eleonora III was delivered in 2013 as the first Columbus Sport Hybrid model from Italian yard Palumbo. Designed by HydroTec, this high volume yacht was built in aluminium to RINA Maltese Cross classification and is MCA LY2 compliant.
The Hot Lab interiors on board Eleonora III offer flexible accommodation for 10 guests in five en suite cabins, consisting of a master suite and study on the main deck, with two doubles and twins below. There are also quarters for seven crew in four cabins.
This environmentally-conscious superyacht series has won numerous acknowledgements. The first hull was awarded the 2014 ShowBoats Design Award for Interior Design, received the Environmental Protection and Holistic Design Award and also gained an award from the Union Internationale Motonautique.
Powered by advanced hybrid propulsion and twin 1,920hp MTU diesel engines, the Columbus 40S Hybrid has a maximum speed of 20 knots with reduced environmental impact. Her cruising speed is 18 to 20 knots, but she can also cruise silently at 8 knots using only her gensets and electric motors. In electric mode, there is an incredible 50% reduction in fuel consumption compared to other yachts in her class, as she consumes only 2.5 gallons per mile.
Eleonora III was asking $12,999,000.
