The 43.6 metre motor yacht Starship, listed for sale by Drew Baldwin at D’Onofrio Yacht Sales, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Robert Stotler at Worth Avenue Yachts.
Starship was built in aluminium by Dutch yard Van Mill to a design by Pieter Beeldsijder with naval architecture by Murray & Associates and delivered in 1988. She was stripped back to bare metal during a thorough $14 million refit in 2006 with all new systems and the entire interior replaced. She was further refitted in 2017, bringing her right up to date.
Her award-winning Claudette Bonville interior accommodates 10 guests in five cabins comprising a master suite, VIP suite, two doubles and a twin cabin, all with entertainment centres, flatscreen television sets and en suite bathroom facilities.
Her impressive large main foyer, with its marble floors and spiral staircase, sets the tone for the rest of the yacht, with its large and generous spaces and classic styling. This entrance point leads into the main saloon, home to amenities including several sofas and leather chairs, coffee tables and a bar, all set off by high and wide windows and details including impressive marble columns.
Exterior spaces are also large and welcoming, including a full dining set-up on the upper aft deck, more dining space on the main aft deck, a flybridge with lounge seating, large sun pads and a Jacuzzi and sun loungers on the foredeck. The bridge deck aft features a 'touch and go' helipad and storage for the jet skis. Her top speed is 13.5 knots and she boasts a maximum cruising range of 2,780 nautical miles at 12 knots with power coming from two 2,250hp Caterpillar 3512-B diesel engines. For added comfort and safety, she is fitted with Quantum zero speed stabilisers.
Starship was asking $5,950,000.
