Five Dutch companies have joined forces to offer a one-stop-shop for superyacht services of the quality and value that owners have demanded since the global economic crisis.
Holland Yacht Experience consists of the family businesses Mulder Shipyard, Balk Shipyard, repair and servicing specialist Arie de Boom Marine, brokerage house Van der Vliet Quality Yachts and tender builder Wayer & Wayer. All these companies have in various ways built their success on yachts with high-quality construction, durability and steady value – factors that have become increasingly important to customers since the financial downturn.
‘If you look at how many requests for refits and maintenance we have at the moment, you see that people want to invest in those stable values that pay off better over time, rather than quick deals,’ says Daan Balk, owner of Balk Shipyard. ‘We are still very lucky, with an overflowing order book – but these are all long-term relationships, customers that are coming back to the yard.’
The member businesses hope that joint promotion and representation at their offices in central Cannes will make them a magnet for discerning owners. Their services include yacht sales, refits, maintenance and berthing.
