Heesen's 38.1-metre motor yacht Sea Axis has been listed for sale with Jamie Swaine and Josh Marshall of IYC.
Sea Axis was delivered in 1987, constructed in aluminium by the Dutch shipyard to a design by Frank Mulder. She underwent a comprehensive refit this year, with works including a refreshed contemporary interior, and has recently completed her comprehensive 40-year survey. According to her broker, "she is presented in immaculate condition and charter-ready from day one".
Accommodation on board is for 12 guests in five en suite cabins comprising a main deck, full-beam master suite and two VIPs, and two twins, both with Pullman berths, located on the lower deck. There are further quarters for a crew of seven. All of the cabins are decorated in the same warm woods found throughout Sea Axis, balanced by light-coloured carpets and furniture and accented by splashes of colour via soft furnishings.
Living spaces on board are bright and inviting with long windows sweeping both sides of Sea Axis' profile. The main saloon offers multiple sofas and a large formal dining table, while above, the sky lounge is complete with a handy desk space and additional, more informal, comfortable seating.
Outside, deck spaces are expansive and welcoming, including a large aft deck sheltered by the overhang of the deck above and equipped with a U-shaped built-in seating area surrounding a custom table. Up on the sundeck, there are sunbathing areas, sunpads, a wet bar and a Jacuzzi, creating the perfect area for al fresco entertaining.
In 2011, Sea Axis underwent a two-year $10 million refit, supervised by her original designer, with works including a main aft deck extension and euro-transom, an expanded skylounge, bridge and sun deck extensions and reconfiguration of all exterior areas. Further works in 2022 included a new paint job and all-new teak decks.
Twin 1,250hp Deutz engines power the yacht for sale to a maximum speed of 17 knots, and offer a range of 3,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots. Key specs include a 7.6-metre beam and an interior volume of 257GT.
Currently lying in Newport, Rhode Island, Sea Axis is asking $4,499,000.
