The 44 metre MMGI motor yacht Blade, listed for sale by Smart Yachts, has been sold in an in-house deal.
Designed by Navirex, Blade was built in aluminium to RINA class by Italian yard MMGI and delivered in 2010 with a major refit in 2016. Accommodation in a minimalist interior by Michela Reverberi is for nine guests in five cabins laid out as a master suite, three doubles and a single, all with en suite bathroom facilities. In addition, the crew quarters sleep eight staff aboard.
Entry to the main deck saloon is via two pairs of electric sliding doors arranged to form a vestibule containing a guest head to port and the lift to starboard. The second set of doors opens onto the saloon itself. Apart from the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, this space in no way resembles the original prior to the 2016 refit, although the main deck planking, which also runs through the saloon, has been retained.
The interiors are essentially white with pale fabrics and furnishings, plus light woods for the floors, which leave the owner’s art works to establish colour.
Opacmare in Italy oversaw the engineering which cantilevers an entire section of the aft main deck up, aft and down to the water level, while gentle ramps complement broad steps. This, together with a host of similar features including a lift from the lower deck to the sundeck, was a matter of good forward thinking, since the yacht is used extensively for charter and thus able to cater for guests with reduced mobility.
Twin 1,800hp Caterpillar engines are complemented by a 5,100hp gas turbine, for when speed is of the essence, and can propel her to a top speed of 30 knots. For longer passages, cruising at 12 knots will allow for a range of 1,000 nautical miles. Zero speed stabilisers ensure comfort at sea and at anchor.
Blade was asking €5,500,000.
