Oscar Romano at Fraser Yachts tells me that he is joint central agents with Corrado Di Majo of Equinoxe Yachts for the sale of the 39 metre (including bowsprit) new build sailing yacht Loop I, due to launch in August, and the uncompleted sailing yacht Loop II, which is being left unfinished for a new owner to make his own modifications.
These two classic schooners have been designed by a team of renowned Italian naval architects and designers, including Silverio Della Rosa for the naval architecture and sail plan, Studio Faggioni for the structural plan, Venelli & Kramer for the deck and exterior design, and Nauta Yachts for the interior design.
The aim behind the project was to create a spacious and comfortable sailing yacht with excellent sailing performance, in the form of a classic, elegant schooner. To this end it has been designed with a fast hull, huge sail plan, twin rudders and state-of-the-art equipment.
The hulls, constructed in wooden composite WestSystem with epoxy fairing and finish, were built in Turkey under Italian supervision and then moved to Italy for completion and outfitting at CNT Castagnola in Lavagna, Genoa.
Studio Tecnico Averame, well known for its commercial ship-building know-how, has managed the project.
Both yachts have been outfitted with the best equipment available - Sparcraft and Bamar masts and riggings, Harken deck hardware, Caterpillar (Loop I) and MAN (Loop II) engines and Kohler generators to name a few.
Accommodating 10 guests in five cabins (a full-beam master, two VIPs and two twins) in the forward section of the lower deck and up to eight crew in crew quarters aft, the yachts also feature spacious main saloons with seating and dining areas, that open out to aft cockpits. The interior design is sleek and modern in the best Italian tradition without compromising functionality.
The yachts also feature a large fold-out swimming platform which allows easy access to tenders and toys.
Classed by RINA for charter, the yachts have oceanic range. Loop I has a pair of 460hp Caterpillar C12 DITA engines which produce a cruising speed of 10 knots.
Listed for sale by Fraser Yachts and Equinox Yachts, Loop I and Loop II are asking €8.5 million apiece, and Loop I will be on show at Monaco in September.
