Steve Doyle in the Boston office of Northrop and Johnson tells me that he has two sailing yachts currently under construction, both now for sale and both due in 2011. The first is the 34.72m cruising sailboat Blue Pearl being built by Tartan Yachts/Blue Pearl Yachts with classic clipper ketch styling on deck and state-of-the-art systems below. Being built to ABS classification and MCA compliant, she will sleep 10 or 12 guests in four or five cabins depending on her new owner’s requirements. Steve’s second offering is Durabo, a 35m sloop in aluminium with a carbon fibre rig being built at Durabo Construction in Canada.
