The 30.2-metre Royal Huisman sailing yacht Foftein has been listed for sale with Manfred Haas of Haas International.
Delivered in 1999, Foftein was constructed in aluminium by the Dutch yard, designed as a "striking cutter rigged yacht". Renowned designer German Frers is responsible for her classically styled exterior design and naval architecture.
According to BOATPro, she was last sold in 2017, having had only two owners since new - the first of which was an experienced yachtsman-cum-world-traveling marine photographer, seeking a serious bluewater cruising vessel.
Her broker noted that she has been maintained to "exceptional, turn-key" condition, including a refit in 2020 by Huisfit (Royal Huisman’s refit division) whereby she underwent a transformative hybrid propulsion and systems upgrade. Foftein is now one of the first classic sailing yachts to "cruise silently, regenerate energy under sail, and comply with the world’s most advanced environmental standards".
A Pieter Beeldsnijder-designed interior in cherry wood panelling combines classic elegance, warmth and practicality, while providing extremely spacious accommodation for six guests in a master suite and two twin guest cabins, all with en suite. Meanwhile, she has further quarters for four crew in two cabins.
Foftein is characterised by two cockpits — the centre cockpit is the social focus and leads into the deck house, which also offers great visibility around the yacht. A second cockpit is located to aft and dedicated to the owner, with steps leading into the master suite.
While her appearance may be traditional, she boasts a modern fast hull, a tapered aluminium mast and spars, and computer-cut sails with semi-automated handling gear.
Hyprid propulsion and Volvo Penta 550hp engines offers the sailing yacht for sale eight hours of silent cruising. She also offers power regeneration under sail and lithium-ion energy systems and is a proven world cruiser, having been Arctic-tested.
Foftein is asking €8,500,000 with VAT paid, currently cruising in the English Channel.
