Sailing superyacht Keewaydin now for sale with Edmiston
by Malcolm MacLean
Keewaydin was built to ABS class in 1995 and sets the benchmark for proper pro-active maintenance, with all systems kept in first class condition. Her annual maintenance and refits have kept the yacht fully current with regard to the most modern systems aboard any yacht and every system is managed with an eye to proper care and redundancy.
From this starting point, the yacht underwent a comprehensive refit in 2010, which updated virtually every system aboard, including cosmetics, with new Awlgrip on all surfaces, all new teak decks and an exhaustive list of upgrades that cost in excess of $2 million.
With Hood roller furling masts, Reckmann headstay furlers, a shallow draught centreboard design, a reliable Caterpillar main engine and a sail plan capable of powering her in all but the lightest winds, Keewaydin represents the epitome of a world cruiser.
Her interior, with full width owner’s suite plus two guest staterooms, all with en suite facilities, was designed by John Munford in classic, raised panel, varnished mahogany, accented with marble and rolled leather.
Lying in West Palm Beach, Florida, Keewaydin is asking $2,975,000.
