Gloria

On July 3rd 2009 I reported that Michael Nethersole acted for the buyer in the sale of the 38.4m sailing yacht Gloria and I now learn that she's back on the market through Michael.

Gloria was designed by Pieter Beeldsnijder and built by Jongert in 1986 with an interior finished by Lowland Yachts. Refitted in 2004, 2006 and 2009, this superyacht enjoys an impeccable pedigree, enhanced by the original owner’s request that she should be a modern incarnation of the famous 1936 A. Mylne-designed schooner, Panda.

Gloria is a staysail schooner with in mast and roller furling on all working sails, and powerful self-tailing winches for all sheets. This versatile rig allows efficient sail handling with a small crew, providing powerful and exhilarating performance in any wind conditions.

She is built in steel with mahogany clad aluminium superstructures, and aluminium masts and booms. Her interior furnishings and joinery work are rendered in the highest quality mahogany, and feature intricate mouldings, leaded glass doors, handsome cabinetry, and flawless finishes.

Gloria has luxurious accommodation for eight guests in four en-suite staterooms, and for up to eight crew in three cabins. She normally cruises with five to six crew and is on the market asking $7.9 million.
