Talking to Dennis Frederiksen in the Monaco office of Fraser Yachts this morning, he confirms that he acted for the buyer in the sale of Feadship's 60m Paraffin, with Robert Shepherd at Edmiston & Company's New York office representing the seller. Built in 2001 at Van Lent and refitted in 2006. she has proved to be an immensely successful charter yacht, sleeping up to 14 guests in six staterooms and is a true world cruising voyager, with a range of 6,500 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her asking price was €49.9 million and Dennis tells me that the new owners intend to keep the name Paraffin to build on her impeccable charter record as she now joins the Fraser Yachts charter fleet.
