The top interior design brands to see at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018

Preciosa

While the highlights of the Monaco Yacht Show 2018 will undoubtedly be the biggest yachts on display and the yachts for sale, for those not looking to upgrade their current yacht, a whole host of interior design brands will be on hand to offer inspiring ideas for a new season refresh. Here’s our pick of the ones not to miss…

Preciosa

Lighting specialist Preciosa will be returning to the Monaco yacht Show for the fourth consecutive year in 2018 to exhibit a show-stopping new product designed specifically for superyachts. Named Pearl Wave, this chandelier-style lighting installation features 700 handmade triplex opal spheres suspended from gold coloured rods offering an ideal central design piece for main saloons or dining rooms. Alongside Pearl Wave, Preciosa will also be exhibiting its Maritime Programme which comprises a range of chic lighting solutions specially designed for the unique conditions of life at sea.

Atelier Bernard Pictet

Paris-based glasswork studio Atelier Bernard Pictet is one of five Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Companies) members that have been selected to exhibit at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018. Housed alongside its peers in a stand designed by Francois Zuretti (pictured), Atelier Bernard Pictet will be showcasing a range of bespoke practical and decorative glass pieces which encompass everything from staircases and furniture to fine art and lighting. Pieces by the company can currently be found on yachts including Quinta Essentia, Satori (now Septimus) and Eos.

Chi Design

Italian carpet specialist Chi Design will be looking across the oceans during the Monaco Yacht Show 2018. The brand will be celebrating the opening of its new Manhattan showroom by exhibiting a range of products and designs that will be on display at the new store. Jouffre

French creative design studio and atelier Jouffre will be showing alongside Atelier Bernard Pictet in the Francois Zuretti-designed stand during the Monaco Yacht Show 2018. This international firm has teams in France and New York offering services including furniture design and development, upholstery, window treatments and wall coverings. During the Monaco Yacht Show it will be focusing in particular on furniture and drapes, displaying an unusual curvaceous sofa designed in collaboration with Studio Parisien and various iterations of its Rideaux Monsieur curtains (pictured).

Kwasny Carvings

Interior designers looking for the perfect finishing touch to a yacht project could do worse than visit the stand of Kwasny Carvings during the Monaco Yacht Show. This family-run business specialises in ornate wooden carvings and ornaments that can be seen on many yachts, private jets, residences and historical buildings including Vienna’s recently restored Am Hof 2. Stop by to sample its range of intricate door frames, cornices, ceiling panels, headboards and more.

Linley

London-based furniture company Linley is well known within the yachting world for its impressive bespoke bars, desks and marquetry pieces. At the Monaco Yacht Show 2018, Linley will be celebrating its recent acquisition of architectural interiors firm Keech Green which will allow Linley to expand its interior design division both internationally and within the yachting industry. In addition, the brand will also be showcasing a range of new products including the swirling Torque dining table and Eclipse occasional tables and the Tellus globe created in collaboration with Bellerby & Co.

Studioart

Leather has become an important component for superyacht interiors, regularly featuring on walls and ceilings, as well as on more traditional furniture items. One company that’s leading the way is Italian brand Studioart which will be displaying its new Textures collection at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018. Focusing on wall panels, the collection features designs by emerging talents including Studioart’s own Massimo Brancati, as well as Giorgia Zanellato and Elaine Yan Ling Ng of The Fabrick Lab, in striking geometric patterns, bold colours and chic metallics signalling the continued trend for unusual statement walls.

Tribu

Outdoor furniture specialist Tribu will be returning to the Monaco Yacht Show with three collections of stylish outdoor furniture perfect for your sun deck. Designed by Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, the CTR collection of chairs and sofas uses a single continuous tube of stainless steel to create the base of each piece, complemented by a woven backrest for casual summer appeal. For Regista, Monica Armani has reimagined the classic director’s chair with a woven rope backrest and aluminium legs while Merckx & Maes T-Table features a round lava stone top with an aesthetic inspired by still water disturbed by a breeze.
