Aeri Studio unveils 60m yacht concept with Japanese-inspired interiors

Young Parisian design firm Aeri Studio has unveiled a new 60-metre motor yacht concept known as Aeon.

Designed as a "single sculptural volume", the yacht is characterised by a flowing hull form from bow to stern, with taut lines that converge aft and a tapered stern all working to create a dynamic profile, even when at anchor. The superstructure follows the same philosophy: each deck is progressively recessed from the one below, allowing for a series of large outdoor terraces to encourage movement, openness and connection to the environment.

Central to the concept is a strong focus on owner privacy and flexibility. The design offers several arrangements, with eight crew cabins, either five or six guest cabins and an array of entertainment and lifestyle areas.

One arrangement sees a dedicated private owner’s deck with a jacuzzi and outdoor relaxation areas – a space typically associated with larger yachts. Elsewhere, a generous pool can be found sunk into the foredeck, while the aft is host to an "open discussion pit" filled with sociable lounge seating and directly connected to an enclosed wellness area.

Aeon's interiors draw inspiration from the traditional Japanese art of ink painting, known as Sumi-e. This is shown on board through hand-painted panels and refined materials – chosen to create living areas that are calm and contemplative. Studio founder Julien Cadro noted that the relaxed atmosphere on board has been carefully curated to reflect the fluidity expressed outside.

He continued: "Rather than relying on sheer scale for its presence, the concept seeks to demonstrate how carefully considered proportions, sculpted surfaces and architectural layering can create a yacht with a distinctive identity and a powerful visual character."

Aeon is expected to have an interior volume of above 500GT and a broad 10.5-metre beam. According to the founder, the concept can be further developed with shipyards and new build brokers.

Earlier this year, Aeri Studio unveiled a 42-metre motor yacht concept, known as Glide, which challenges conventional superyacht planning through "radical openness and a deeply human approach" to life on board.
