Italian shipyard Azimut has revealed the flagship model in its hybrid Seadeck series. The Seadeck 9 was first announced by head of product design Federico Lantero at this year's Cannes Yachting Festival.
The range will debut in 2024 with the Seadeck 6, measuring 17.3 metres, and will be designed with the latest in environmental technologies, aligning with its aim of bringing the yard closer to the IMO’s CO2 emissions target ahead of the 2030 deadline. The series aims to reduce C02 emissions by up to 40 per cent in an average year of use, both while sailing and at anchor.
Exteriors will be completed by Alberto Mancini, while interiors will be the work of Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez. The Seadeck 9 captures the series' conscious-led design, while the aft deck (known as the "Fun Island") is reinvented with a cascade of terraces.
The Fun Island comprises a surface area of 60 square metres on three levels and will feature a pool integrated into the deck, flanked by two sunbeds that can slide to cover it. There will also be a large platform at water level.
According to BOATPro, Azimut currently has 38 yachts under construction. The Seadeck 9 will join the Seadeck 6, 7, and 8 models.
