Benetti unveils 70m Clear Waves concept with 400sqm Glass Dome

Italian builder Benetti took the opportunity of the Monaco Yacht Show 2026 to unveil a 70-metre concept named Clear Waves, developed in collaboration with Luca Dini Design & Architecture and wellness specialist The Longevity Suite.

Presented on the eve of the official start of the 2026 event, the steel and aluminium concept explores a new approach to superyacht design centred on wellbeing, longevity and the relationship between the owner and the surrounding environment.

Clear Waves is built around five principles identified by the team: environment, movement, social connection, mental and spiritual wellbeing, and technology. Rather than treating wellness as a dedicated area of the yacht, Benetti says the concept has been designed around the physical and mental wellbeing of those on board.

The most distinctive feature is a 400-square-metre Glass Dome spanning two decks at the centre of the yacht. Designed to provide 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape, the structure is intended to bring natural light and the outdoors into the interior, from sunrise through to night-time.

More than 60 per cent of the dome's surface incorporates translucent photovoltaic panels, while the glass has low-emissivity properties and is designed to filter infrared radiation and UV rays. The dome also incorporates an HVAC system with Capacity on Demand technology, alongside natural ventilation generated by the geometry of the structure.

At the unveiling, Luca Dini said the project represented a shift away from the traditional emphasis on increasing volume and features. Instead, Clear Waves focuses on how the spaces contribute to the quality of time spent on board.

“Designing Clear Waves meant interpreting the new era of regenerative luxury through the distinctive language of our studio,” said Dini. “We conceived the spaces as a true living ecosystem, where the magnificence of the Glass Dome erases the boundaries between people, the environment and the sea.”

As a result, the wellness area has been moved from the lower deck, where such facilities are traditionally located, to the upper deck. It is surrounded by natural planting and includes relaxation areas, a food and beverage island, hot and cold water circuits and treatment facilities.

The concept's wellness programme has been developed with The Longevity Suite, incorporating personalised assessments alongside recovery and biohacking technologies including whole-body cryotherapy, dry floating, near-infrared therapy and hydrogen-oxygen therapy.

“The aim of this collaboration is to move beyond the traditional concept of onboard wellness and transform time spent on a yacht into an opportunity to continue a journey of prevention, awareness, recovery and self-care,” said Luigi Caterino, CEO of The Longevity Suite.

Clear Waves also builds on elements of Benetti's Oasis family, including a version of the Oasis Deck with fold-down balconies, an infinity pool, veranda and cabana. The design places these spaces within a broader layout intended to create a closer relationship between the yacht, its surroundings and the sea.

“If Benetti’s Oasis Deck has redefined the relationship between the yacht and the sea, with Clear Waves the yacht looks to the sky and to the human being,” said Sebastiano Vida, Benetti's head of product.

The focus on wellbeing extends to the yacht's engineering. Clear Waves is designed around a hybrid propulsion configuration with a dual-fuel system capable of using HVO biofuel and methanol. The system has been validated by Lloyd's Register and developed in collaboration with Meccano Engineering.

More than 250 square metres of solar panels are incorporated across the yacht, with a stated capacity of up to 120kWh. A power management system is designed to coordinate generation, storage and consumption, while heat recovery, water treatment and emissions-control systems are also included in the concept.

Benetti says the project has been developed over several months with consideration given to its technical feasibility, although Clear Waves remains a concept and no order has been announced.

Vida described the project's environmental and human focus as interconnected, saying: “If sustainability means taking care of the environment, longevity means taking care of the individual over time.”

With Clear Waves, Benetti is using its 70-metre concept to explore how wellness, environmental considerations and architectural design could shape the next generation of superyachts.
