Work is progressing on a custom 80-metre Benetti yacht known only as Project Iron Man. The hull is now well on its way in the construction process, with delivery to the client – a repeat Benetti owner represented by Northrop & Johnson – scheduled for 2028.
Italian studio Giorgio M. Cassetta is the driving force behind exterior design, with Project Iron Man set to push "the frontiers of design, technology, and seakeeping" according to the shipyard. Details are scarce, though the yacht will feature large outdoor entertaining areas able to accommodate the owner's multi-generational family.
"We are honoured to create a new, beautiful design for a client that showed us his love from our very first meeting five years ago, and continuously supported our vision through his first and now second build with us," said Cassetta. "The great attention that he and his family dedicated to the definition of the design will be instrumental to the creation of a new masterpiece."
Daniela Petrozzi, sales director at Benetti, added: "We are deeply proud of this yacht, as it marks a significant milestone both for the owner, who is a treasured loyal customer, and for us as a shipyard, as we continue to push the boundaries of design, technology and luxury. This new build reinforces our valued relationship and shared commitment to excellence."
According to BOATPro, Benetti has an impressive 55 yachts currently in build or on order. This includes the 72-metre flagship model in its B.Now series.
