39m Gianetti motor yacht ONeiro I delivered following almost two decades of construction

Italian shipyard Gianetti Yachts has announced the delivery of its 38.5-metre motor yacht ONeiro I, previously known as Project 401, following almost 20 years of construction, according to data from BOATPro.

The all-aluminium project began on speculation in 2007, undergoing initial build stages at several Italian shipyards, including Intermarine S.p.A. by Italia Super Yacht.

In November 2014, Gianetti signed a purchase agreement for the hull, with the build arriving at the yard's facilities five months later in April 2015. The Viareggio-based builder worked closely with the original client over a period of five years to transform the original platform into a bespoke build. In 2020, however, the client sadly passed away and construction was subsequently placed on hold.

The unfinished build was sold to her current owners in November 2024, after which the yacht's construction was completed, her interior was outfitted to the owner's requests, and her onboard systems were commissioned and integrated. She was finally launched in July this year, though her construction has remained notably private.

The delivery marks a monumental milestone in the yacht's build, with the yard praising ONeiro I's "generous accommodation, three decks and features shaped around her owners’ requirements."

A "wide-body" configuration, an 8.1-metre beam and a volume of 340GT define ONeiro I, with a layout – originally designed by Tommaso Spadolini – that has been described as offering space for both private retreats and shared living, as customised by her owner. Extensive elongated glazing adorns the yacht's profile, making the interior areas, including an open-plan main-deck lounge and dining space, feel bright, airy and welcoming.

Living areas continue outside, including al fresco dining on the aft deck, a lounge on the upper deck aft and a sundeck complete with a swimming pool. A lift provides easy access throughout.

Accommodation on board is arranged across a five-cabin layout for up to 10 guests. The owner’s suite can be found on the upper deck, leaving room for a full-beam VIP suite positioned on the main deck. Below, two double guest cabins and one twin cabin complete the guest accommodation, while dedicated quarters accommodate a crew of seven.

ONeiro I was launched in July

Twin 1,300hp Caterpillar C32 ACERT diesel engines power the BV-classed new build, offering a top speed of 16 knots with a range of around 2,700 nautical miles at 11.2 knots. She is also equipped with electric bow and stern thrusters for close-quarters manoeuvring and CMC zero-speed electric stabilisers for comfort at anchor.

Exclusive BOATPro data revealed the yard to currently have one project under construction: the 38.5-metre Project 402.
