Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has announced the sale of its first EXP 43 explorer yacht.

The 43 metre superyacht is part of the new semi-custom EXP range designed in collaboration with Francesco Paszkowski. With an internal volume of 499 GT, the EXP 43 will be the largest model in the range and is a reflection of the industry’s growing demand for new explorer vessels.

Equipped with a steel hull and boasting a cruising range of 5,000 nautical miles, the EXP 43 will be able to sail in extreme conditions and reach far-flung destinations. The yacht is powered by two heavy-duty Caterpillar C32 Acert engines which are IMO TIER III-compliant and offer a top speed of 14 knots.

“Pioneering and leading the explorer vessels’ segment requires a clear vision of the market and a proactive attitude, hence CdM’s decision to further extend and diversify its already rich offer with a new semi-custom range,” said Vasco Buonpensiere, CdM co-founder and director of sales and marketing.

The interiors of the yacht have been designed with an “indoor/outdoor ethos” in anticipation that owners of this model will be focused on enjoying the natural world around them as much as possible. This is realised through extensive use of glass in both the main and upper deck saloon, with the latter offering a bright and airy glass-wrapped veranda for direct connection with the sea.

There will be four double suites for guests located on the main deck forward, with another two twin cabins on the lower deck. The lower deck will also be outfitted with four crew cabins and a captain’s suite by the wheelhouse, alongside a sizable galley with a crew mess and laundry.

The EXP 43 is prepared to carry a range of toys for exploring its cruising destinations, with a dedicated storage compartment located forward on the upper deck.

The EXP 43 will join the yard’s fleet of expedition-capable new builds currently under construction, including two Darwin 86’s, a pair of Flexplorer 146’s, an Acciaio 130, two RJ 157s, an RJ 115 and a one-off explorer yacht known as Project T.
