CdM announces sale of second Flexplorer 146 in just four weeks

Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has announced the sale of another Flexplorer 146.

The new Flexplorer has been commissioned by a "young and enthusiast" American owner and is the second Flexplorer 146 to be sold by the shipyard in just four weeks.

The 44.34 metre yacht features the design work of Sergio Cutolo/Hydro Tec and is configured as four decks with a flight of stairs leading from the wheelhouse to a crow's nest.

The Flexplorer line is defined by a large main deck aft and this unit will utilise the space to carry a 10-metre custom tender, crew tender and two jet skis, launched and recovered by a four-tonne A-frame crane. Once launched, the area transforms into an open-air lounging, dining and entertainment space. The interior designer is yet to be announced.

The first hull, Aurelia, picked up a World Superyacht Award in 2021 for Displacement Motor Yachts 499GT and Below, 30m to 39.9m

Accommodation is split across three decks with six cabins for guests and another six for crew. Three guests cabins are found on the main deck comprised of two twins and a convertible large double cabin that can be transformed into a homeschooling room or studio as needed. The master suite is positioned on an owner's deck and benefits from a private stern terrace as well as a forward lounge area, which is home to one of two cold plunge pools on board.

Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and sales and marketing director of CdM, said the secret to the success of the series was its ability to deliver "full flexibility".

"In the 100/150 feet market, customisation is a much-abused word and behind the ‘winning’ formula the reality is that the owner can just choose veneers, fabrics and few minor items. We decided to stress the customisation to the limit offering our international clientele a concept within which each owner can build together with us his own Flexplorer," he said.

The Flexplorer 146 will be powered by twin Caterpillar C32 Acert engines delivering a top speed of 14 knots and a range of 6,500 nautical miles when travelling at 10 knots. Meanwhile, two pairs of electro-driven stabilising fins offer comfortable cruising and improves seakeeping.

The first hull, Aurelia, picked up a World Superyacht Award in 2021 in the category for Displacement Motor Yachts 499GT and Below, 30m to 39.9m. The second unit was sold in November 2020 under the name Maverick with delivery slated for 2023, while another unit, a Flexplorer 146, was sold in November 2021.
