The newly formed custom division of Italian shipyard Cantieri di Pisa has marked a milestone by celebrating the keel-laying of a 40-metre motor yacht. She is the first 30-metre-plus yacht to begin construction since the yard was acquired in 2021 by Enrico Gennasio, with delivery to her French owner expected in February 2027.
The build will be moulded using "advanced vacuum technology", thereby reducing tonnage and lowering the centre of gravity for greater propulsion efficiency. The engineering was developed by Studio Sa.Ma.Re Design by Francesco Samarelli with support from Antonio Luxardo and Optima Design, the firm he founded in La Spezia.
Accommodation will be across six guest cabins and five crew cabins, all en suite. The owner's cabin is located forward on the main deck and will have a private terrace, while a massage room on the upper deck can also be converted into an additional cabin.
Other features include a Jacuzzi, a spacious beach club and two lateral-opening terraces. The yacht will also be equipped with a garage amidships for side-launching waverunners and a 6.5-metre tender. Long-range cruising is the goal, according to the yard, with the new build equipped with a well-appointed galley, pantries on all decks, fridge and freezer areas and a high-capacity laundry.
A standrad propulsion system will result in a top speed of 15 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots and a range of 2,000 nautical miles.
Last year, Cantieri di Pisa confirmed it was advancing the renovation and expansion of its headquarters in Pisa as part of a multi-year plan to relaunch the brand.
