Cass Yacht Design unveils two 50m+ yacht concepts for AES Yacht

26 January 2026 • Written by Emily Dawkins

Turkish studio Cass Yacht Design has unveiled two new superyacht designs penned for Turkish shipyard AES Yacht. The smaller of the two designs is a sub-500GT, 50-metre concept, while the other stands at 70 metres with a significant 1,500GT of interior volume.

The 50-metre design is defined by a full-beam "architectural approach", characterised by floor-to-ceiling glazing and generous private balconies that decorate its profile. The yacht has been drawn with a "refined minimalist" aesthetic and showcases flowing lines, unassuming volumes and an understated elegance. According to studio designer Yavuz Akyildiz, the result is a calm and sophisticated atmosphere on board, with bright interiors filled with natural light and blurred with the environment outside.

At 499GT, the 50-metre benefits from regulatory advantages while delivering a "level of interior and exterior space that exceeds expectations for its size", Akyildiz explained.

Exterior decks have been designed for both social interaction and private moments, highlighting the design's lifestyle-driven approach. Meanwhile, inside, accommodation is for 10 guests across a five-cabin layout comprising one master, two VIPs and two guests, with further quarters sleeping up to 10 crew.

The yacht is said to be "well suited" to extended cruising, yet remains practical for operation and manoeuvrability, with power set to come from conventional propulsion offering a 15-knot maximum speed and a 12-knot cruising speed.

The larger of the designs is a 70-metre superyacht concept, drawn with a "strikingly futuristic silhouette".

Bold lines, tiered decks and extensive glazing characterise the forward-looking yacht, with the bridge deck and radar mast seamlessly intertwined to combine technical necessities with fluid design. Uninterrupted horizontal lines create a monolithic appearance that glides over the water, once again drawn with a high freeboard to accentuate the yacht's volume.

What sets the yacht apart is found aft, where opening platforms unfold to form a beach house-style space close to the water. The focus point onboard, however, is the foredeck cylindrical pool, which is inspired by an aquarium and encased by a striking circular stairwell. The remaining decks are expansive and can be adapted to a variety of owner lifestyles. "Free from unnecessary ornamentation, the design derives its strength from deliberate simplicity, projecting a refined and confident identity," Akyildiz added.

Inside, 1,500GT of volume offers accommodation for 12 guests in two master cabins and four VIP suites, in addition to 21 crew. Conventional propulsion is expected to power the 70-metre to a 17-knot top speed, a 14-knot cruising speed and a long-range capability.

Though the designs are presented as complete projects, both yachts offer a "high degree" of customisation.
