Christensen announces order for a new Custom 160 series superyacht

10 February 2012 • Written by Raphael Montigneaux

Christensen has had a good week with the announcement of a new order for a Custom 160 series project, following on from the news of its (re)launch of the motor yacht First Draw after a refit.

Commissioned by Donald A Burns, the twentieth repeat client for the American yard, the new 48.8 metre superyacht will be built in composite to the same in-house design as her sisterships in this series. ABS classed and MCA compliant, she will be one of the first US flagged yachts certified for commercial charter in Europe for up to 12 passengers.

The contemporary interior will be styled by Tonya Lance of Varo Interior Design, and will be laid out to accommodate 12 guests in six cabins: a master suite on the main deck, and a VIP and four further double cabins on the lower deck.

The Custom 160 yacht will be powered by twin Caterpillar 3512 engines giving a top speed of 18 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles at an economical speed.

Easily distinguishable from her sisters thanks to her light grey hull, this new Christensen motor yacht will be delivered in September 2013.
