1 April 2022 • Written by Katia Damborsky

Circa Marine has announced that the second hull of its Circa 24m series, named Deo Juvante, has taken to the water. The 25 metre yacht will be the first in Circa Marine's yard to be fitted with a kite sail for improved performance and fuel-saving.

The New Zealand-based shipyard launched the motor yacht, which was penned by LOMOcean Design, from the Port Whangarei Marine Centre. The yacht will undergo dockside commissioning and testing ahead of official sea trials.

The second hull of the series features a 5.9 metre beam, a full walk-around flybridge and a Portuguese bridge customised to the owner’s wishes. The yacht is equipped with four guest cabins, with the ensuite master bedroom located forward at the bow.

Other design features include simplified crew access to the engine room, systems and storage areas, which is aided by a central hallway and a foredeck hatch.

The yacht will be powered by a pair of MAN D2676 LE 424 engines that are expected to provide over 500 hp each with a top speed of 13 knots. At a cruising speed of 11 knots, she boasts a range of 5,000 nautical miles.

The first hull of the series was launched in 2021. Named Mollymawk after a type of albatross specific to the southern hemisphere, she features a two-tone grey and black hull that echoes the colouring of the bird.
