Dutch shipyard Damen Yachting has confirmed the sale of the fifth Amels 80, shortly after her arrival at the yard’s facility in Vlissingen in January where she began outfitting works. The 80-metre new build, part of the Amels Limited Editions range, is scheduled for delivery in Autumn 2027.
Hull 8005 follows the fourth unit in the Limited Editions series, which made the same journey in June 2025. The sale, realised in close cooperation with brokerage firm Burgess, reflects the sustained demand for the Amels 80 design; BOATPro data reveals a total of five Amels 80 yachts currently in build. Burgess is managing the build for the buyer through its in-house team, marking the third Amels 80 for which it has introduced the client.
Jan van Hogerwou, commercial executive at Damen Yachting, commented that the transaction "speaks to the enduring appeal of the Amels Limited Editions approach," combining an established design platform with the freedom to tailor a yacht to the owner’s vision while benefitting from the yard’s proven build quality and delivery track record.
The hybrid 80-metre line is the largest offering in the yard's popular Limited Editions range, designed with a masculine, sturdy exterior by Espen Øino and interiors from the drawing boards of Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. The 2,175GT yacht accommodates 14 guests across 7 cabins, with further provision for a crew of 20 plus captain.
The design emphasises space, openness and a strong connection to the sea. Her 200-square-metre sun deck, the largest in her class, offers versatile areas for relaxation and entertaining, while a three-sided open beach club enhances the connection to the water.
A private owner’s deck, a 6.5-metre glass-bottom swimming pool, wellness facilities including a gym, hammam and sauna, and panoramic guest accommodation on the main deck complete the onboard experience.
Hybrid propulsion enables the Amels 80 to cruise on electric power at low speeds, reducing noise and vibration while lowering emissions. This integration of technology and design underlines Damen’s focus on comfort, operational efficiency and an enhanced onboard experience.
At the time of the yacht's technical launch, Rob Luijendijk, Damen Yachting's commercial director, said: "Today, discerning owners understand that sustainability and smart ownership go hand in hand." He continued: "The Amels 80's hybrid propulsion system and optimised hull design don't just reduce environmental impact; they deliver significant fuel savings and lower operational costs whilst protecting long-term value. It is intelligent yacht ownership for the modern era."

Exclusive data from BOATPro reveals that Amels currently has eight yachts on order or in build. The largest of which is 120-metre Project Tanzanite, the largest Dutch-built motor yacht in history, which is due for delivery this year.
