Dutch yard Damen Yachting has announced the successful delivery of its first 60-metre Xplorer 60 superyacht, After You, and her 53-metre support vessel, Emotional, to the same owner.
The delivery news comes in tandem with the announcement that both yachts have been sold by TWW Yachts and will be available for charter at key destinations across their owner’s planned circumnavigation. After You and Emotional will be on display with Damen Yachting and TWW Yachts during the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show.
Both yachts were built and launched at Damen Yachting’s new build facilities in Antalya, Turkey, consecutively hitting the water earlier this year, in March. The TWW Yacht Management team were also involved in the final stages of both yachts' build as the owner's representative.
After You marks the first from the Dutch shipyard's Xplorer 60 series, designed for both extreme adventure exploits – thanks to a capable steel hull – and luxury superyacht comforts. According to the yard, "the Xplorer 60 is as comfortable navigating the glamorous hotspots of the Mediterranean as she is exploring polar frontiers".
The Xplorer 60, formerly known as the SeaXplorer 60, was first unveiled in September 2021, with construction on the first unit (After You) being built on speculation in February 2022. Azure Yacht Design and Naval Architecture penned the model's rugged yet simultaneously glamorous exterior design, while her naval architecture was completed in-house.
Meanwhile, her interiors were penned by British studio H2 Yacht Design, with accommodation on board for a total of 12 guests and 16 crew members, plus a captain.
Following close behind the explorer is her 53-metre support vessel Emotional, last spotted on sea trials in May. She marks the third unit from Damen Yachting's Yacht Support (YS) 53 series (following her sisterships Five Oceans and Bad Company Support), designed and engineered in-house by the Dutch yard to provide support through additional crew, toys, extra helicopter facilities, as well as logistical capacity.
Key specs include an internal volume that sits just under 500GT and a top speed of 19 knots.
“Being able to deliver the very first Xplorer 60 and the latest 53-metre Yacht Support is the result of a fantastic collaboration between the Damen Yachting Teams in Antalya and in Vlissingen, as well as the clients’ team at TWW Yachts," commented Damen Yachting's product and design manager for Xplorer and Yacht Support, Enrique Tintore. "This double delivery is a landmark moment for Damen Yachting.”
Jorrit Pilaar, sales manager at Damen Yachting, added: “It was an absolute pleasure working with the team of TWW Yachts over the last months to get the first Xplorer 60 and the 53-metre Yacht Support ready for delivery. On behalf of everyone at Damen Yachting, I would like to wish the owner and his crew all the very best for their upcoming adventures at sea.”
David Westwood, CEO of TWW Yachts, said: ‘As representatives of the owner, our foremost responsibility was to ensure that their vision, expectations, and long-term interests were safeguarded throughout the project. From inception to delivery, we managed the process with a focus on mitigating risks, protecting the Owner’s investment, and guaranteeing that the yachts delivered precisely as promised".
Westwood continued: "The result is an exceptional explorer yacht paired with a powerful support vessel, together creating a unique platform for discovery and adventure at sea. We are pleased to have partnered with Damen Yachting, whose shipyard expertise and proven build quality have been integral to achieving this outcome. Their technical proficiency and reliability as a supplier allowed us to focus on the owner’s priorities with complete confidence.”
According to BOATPro, the Dutch yard has three superyacht projects on order or under construction, the largest of which measures 75.2 metres and is scheduled for delivery in 2026.
