Damen Yachting has announced the delivery of the eighth unit from its Amels 60 series, simultaneously unveiling her christened name as Alva. According to BOATPro, she is now cruising and en route to Valletta, Malta. Following her delivery, she will be available for charter with Christie Yachts.
The 60-metre new build was launched from the Dutch yard's Vlissingen facilities in July last year, though she made headlines again in December when the yard announced that she had been sold following sea trials that autumn. Since her sale, Alva has been undergoing final outfitting works for further customisation for her owner, alongside specific requests aimed at increasing her charter appeal.
The Amels 60 was introduced to the market in 2019 and features an exterior design by Espen Øino, including the geometric windows that have become the series' trademark. Notable sisterships include the first unit in the series, Come Together, which was sold last year at a last known asking price of €59,950,000. The Dutch yard's second unit, Entourage, won a Neptune at last year's World Superyacht Awards.
Accommodation is for 12 guests in six cabins and 12 crew, including the captain. This unit's interiors – described as "calm, contemporary yet homely" by the shipyard – are courtesy of British studio Harrison Eidsgaard, which also completed the interiors on board Memories, the seventh Amels 60 delivered in June 2025.
Highlights on board Alva include the sundeck, which measures 162 square metres and is complete with an outdoor cinema, a semi-enclosed gym and a large spa tub. Another highlight is the beach club, which is dedicated to wellness and entertainment, and the owner's main-deck suite, which features a folding, 75-square-metre balcony.
"Alva brings together Amels' build quality, a beautiful Harrison Eidsgaard-designed interior and a dedicated crew to create a truly special charter yacht," said Will Christie, CEO of Christie Yachts. "She is a welcome addition to our fleet, and we believe she will become a firm favourite among clients who appreciate outstanding service and a wonderful charter experience."

Christie added: "This summer, she will be cruising France, Italy, the Balearic Islands and Greece, before heading to the Caribbean for the 2026/27 winter season. We look forward to working with her crew to arrange some memorable charters for our clients."
Jorrit Pilaar, commercial executive EMEA at Damen Yachting, concluded: “Parting with a yacht is always a poignant moment for our team, but we are very happy to see Alva commence this first chapter with her owner.”
The Amels 60 features a hybrid MTU propulsion package for a maximum speed of 15.5 knots on full power and 14 knots when "eco-cruising". A range of 4,500 nautical miles is offered at 13 knots. When propelled purely by the hybrid electrical drive motors, she can reach a top speed of seven knots.
According to BOATPro, Damen Yachting has eight superyacht projects under construction, including its 120-metre flagship Project Tanzanite. The shipyard recently celebrated the launch of two Amels 80 new builds, the former of which features a "dolphin blue" metallic hull.
