4 September 2012 • Written by Tom Isitt

Feadship and Dobroserdov Design have joined forces to collaborate on a new project called STRATO. This innovative new design 'meets the need for huge beach-club facilities, modern lines, green technologies and smart economical propulsion', according to the press statement, and will be Feadship's first even 'open' design.

STRATO will be a 51.8 metre fast-displacement hybrid motor yacht. The main engines will be two MTU 16V4000M73s, each supplying 3432hp of power. Alternatively, two 201hp electric motors will give her a speed of 10 knots, using just 110 litres per hour. STRATO will have a transatlantic range of over 4500 nautical miles and a maximum speed 20 knots.

Accommodation will comprise a large owner's suite and four guest cabins, while crew quarters will accommodate nine crew members. The interior design is by Dobroserdov and Michela Reverberi, and will give panoramic windows around the main deck, and extra large windows in all five cabins.
