First look inside UK-built 29m sailing yacht High Five

18 December 2025 • Written by Emily Dawkins

The 29.1-metre Fibre Mechanics sailing yacht High Five has been handed to her owner. Following her delivery, Winch Design, the interior design studio behind the new build, has offered a first look inside.

An all-British design team is responsible for the performance cruising sloop, which has remained relatively under the radar throughout her construction. Bill Tripp of Tripp Design completed the naval architecture, with the owner – a passionate design enthusiast with a longstanding love of the sea – choosing the British interior design studio to create a yacht that "feels, above all, like home".

Both the exterior and interior design of High Five have been nominated at the 2026 BOAT Design & Innovation Awards.

High Five's interior embraces a timeless and contemporary nautical aesthetic, designed to be "refined yet relaxed". Cream, tan and dark brown leathers are paired with navy blue tones, limed oak and teak flooring and "subtle" rope detailing, while matte and sateen finishes provide a modern touch.

Interesting design features can be seen in the main saloon, where the mast has been incorporated into the design, wrapped in textured leather from Winch's range with Foglizzo.

The interior spaces, exterior aft deck and cockpit have been designed to be as functional as possible, supporting a highly active, family-oriented lifestyle. The convivial interior space is the generous open-plan, multi-functional deck house lounge, which features an integrated galley (designed for the owners to cook for themselves), dining area and a lower lounge and study area.

The aft deck beach-barbecue area and cockpit arrangement also follow suit, designed for multiple family activities with a seamless indoor-outdoor lifestyle.

In terms of accommodation, the owner’s suite is full-beam and is said by the studio to "offer a sense of both openness and retreat". Large windows on both sides characterise the suite, alongside mood lighting and skylights, with the furniture and fittings left "intentionally informal" in keeping with the desired home-away-from-home atmosphere.

Guest cabins are fitted with twin beds (although one can convert to a double) and individual colour palettes, while the request for a minimal crew presence has meant the crew and captain’s cabins match the finish quality of guest areas.

All of the materials on board have also been carefully selected to achieve a lightweight interior of 77GT for efficient sailing performance and a low two-metre draught for access to some of the best anchorage spots in the Bahamas.

According to BOATPro, High Five is the shipyard's only superyacht delivered to date.
