Fourth Hoek-Designed Truly Classic 128 Arrives at Pendennis
by Miranda Blazeby
The aluminium hull of the 38.8 metre sloop is set to be completed at the yard after being built at Boemsma in Holland. The yard described the yacht as “well advanced” and said it remained on track for delivery in summer 2020.
This is the fourth hull in the Truly Classic 128 series penned by Andre Hoek and the second completed by Pendennis following the delivery of Vijonara last year.
The fourth hull has been extensively customised but shares the same hull lines, keel and rudder as the first two yachts built to this design.
Exterior design and naval architecture has been undertaken by Hoek, while interior design comes from Hoek in collaboration with Ken Fulk.
Speaking about the project, Andre Hoek said: “We are proud to be involved in this project for a repeat client who previously owned a smaller yacht in the truly classic range. The great experience working with Pendennis on Vijonara has definitely had an influence in the decision to build again with them.”
Pendennis managing director Mike Carr added: “We are extremely pleased to be partnering again with the Hoek Design team and MCM as the owner’s representative.”
