Liman Shipyard has launched the 40.56m superyacht Artpolars, the largest superyacht built in Ukraine to-date.
The steel and aluminium motor yacht was constructed at Liman’s facilities in Nikolaev, Ukraine, an area with a long shipbuilding tradition. She features naval architecture and exterior styling by Dutch firm Ginton Naval Architects in conjunction with the yard, while Olga Flekey and Marina Rets from FR Design took on the interior design.
‘The owner decided to build her to the required level, whatever it may cost,’ notes Jaron Ginton, founder of Ginton Naval Architects. ‘He bought a mountain of marble, a football field of leather, a forest of wood and veneer and a large selection of golden bath accessories. Then together with the interior designers they experimented building different combinations of colours and material as to reach the desired result. It may not be the most economical way of choosing, but you do get the desired result without any compromise.’
The four-deck yacht includes two owners’ cabins, one on the upper deck with a private aft terrace and another forward on the main deck, with panoramic windows. There are three lower deck guest cabins, while nine crewmembers, including the captain, can be accommodated. There is a spa pool on the foredeck the main deck owner’s cabin and another on the sundeck. She is powered by two Caterpillar 3412 E 912hp each at 2300RPM, offering a top speed of 14 knots, a cruising speed of 12.5 knots and a 4,550nm range.
The finishing touches are being made to Artpolars, with an expected completion date in the spring of 2014.
