News in from Merle Wood & Associates, who tell me that they have been appointed Central Agents for the explorer yacht Tasman.

Built by the Carey yard in Picton, New Zealand, and launched in 2007, Tasman was designed by Richard McBride of McBride Design. Whilst her styling and wooden construction is traditional, Tasman is uncompromisingly modern and practical. Built to survey standard, the full displacement hull and stabilisers have proven to offer comfortable handling even in rough conditions.

Accommodating nine guests in four cabins, including a full-bean owner's cabin, Tasman has a timeless traditional interior and has been designed for extended passage-making. Powered by two Yanmar 370hp engines, Tasman’s fuel economy is outstanding with a combined average consumption of 45.6 litres per hour. Her average cruising speed is 10.5 knots, with a maximum speed of 12.5 knots.

Tasman is asking $4,900,000.
