Mishi Yachts, the new sailing brand of Yonca Shipyard, has offered a first look inside its 31-metre model, the Mishi 102, which was unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show.
After announcing it would be entering the supersail market in April 2024, Mishi Yachts announced the model in May this year and credited the expansion of the line to the success of the Mishi 88 at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2019. The yard noted that development on the project, with Taka Yacht Design selected for the naval architecture and Atilla Eren for the interior. She is exclusively for sale through Ocean Independence.
Designed with family cruising in mind, huge emphasis has been placed on the size and comfort of the cockpit, which houses a dining and lounging space for 12 in the shade of the carbon fibre hardtop. Extendable tables can be raised for eating or lowered for coffee.
Meanwhile, the yacht is afforded panoramic views thanks to glass windows, open sides and skylights overhead. Guests can expect leather details and woods, and Eren has opted for a refined black-and-white pattern for the upholstery, while the cylindrical armrests are held in place with smart red strapping.
The deck space is expansive, with a large teak deck aft of the helms. Clear of the hardtop, the area is perfect for sitting, lounging and entertaining, or there is the option to store toys or tenders there. There is also a large garage which can hold a 4-metre boat. The transom itself lowers to provide a spacious swim platform, accessed down hidden steps.
Further highlights include a forward cockpit built into the coachroof, which gives protection and a sense of security on either side.
Stepping inside, the large saloon makes use of the yacht's 7.3-metre beam with sofas, coffee tables and loose pouffe seating. On the starboard side is a very well-equipped navigation station and chart table. The galley can be half open to the saloon, allowing the owners to cook with family.
Accommodation spans three en suite guest cabins – two positioned aft of the saloon, and one opposite the galley – which can be configured as doubles or twins. The owner's cabin is positioned forward for the greatest privacy and the best light. Alternative configurations have already been worked out, including one that puts the galley forward and pulls the owner’s cabin back amidships, and another that transforms the midship's guest cabin into a lounge area.
Power comes from a standard diesel engine, which can propel the boat at up to 12 knots. Cruising speed under power is 10 knots, which equates to a range of 1,000 nautical miles using the 4,000-litre fuel capacity.
"We were delighted to unveil details of our flagship, the incomparable Mishi 102, at the Monaco Yacht Show,” said Mishi Yachts chairman Şakir Yılmaztürk. “I believe that the yacht represents something really new in the market: a unique proposition for a large, comfortable sailing cruiser. And if the reaction we have had in recent weeks is anything to go by, I’d say the market agrees."
"People cannot believe how much space there is on board, and the headroom below is exceptional," said shipyard chairman and founder Şakir Yılmaztürk, for whom the first model was built. "Although it was never my plan, this emboldened me to consider producing more sailing yachts to the same high spec. In this way, Mishi Yachts was born and we started work on a bigger [model]."
Yonca Shipyard specialises in the defence and law enforcement sector – including fast patrol boats – and the Mishi 102 will be similarly moulded in foam sandwich carbon composite. She will also meet full RINA classification and contain "the latest tech", "state-of-the-art" engineering and accommodation for eight guests and four crew.
