German yard Nobiskrug has confirmed an order for a 100 metre+ superyacht named Project Phoenix.

Also known as new build number 796, Project Phoenix “promises to feature the latest advances in smart design and innovative engineering,” the yard said. Nobiskrug added that the announcement “reinforces” its position as the “shipyard of choice for 22nd Century builds.”

No further details or images have been released about the project, though the yard promised that "more details regarding the yacht’s extraordinary design features are to follow shortly."

The 80 metre Artefact was delivered by the yard this year and is notable for its extensive use of exterior glass

The project comes after the yard laid the keel of its 77 metre in-build superyacht Project Black Shark in February. Sold by Imperial in April 2018, the five deck yacht is set to be built in steel and aluminium to a design by Winch Design. Project Black Shark is due for delivery in 2021 and will feature interior design by Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design.

Elsewhere, the yard delivered the 80 metre hybrid superyacht Artefact this year. The Gregory C Marshall designed superyacht features a 2,990GT interior, making it the biggest volume 80 metre superyacht in the world. Built from a steel hull and GRP superstructure, Artefact is notable for its extensive use of exterior glass and features interior design by Reymond Langton Design.
