Italian design firm Nuvolari Lenard has confirmed that the first two hulls of its new 47-metre S1 model are under construction and taking shape at the Mengi-Yay shipyard in Turkey.
The hull and superstructure of the first unit have now been joined with ongoing construction of the yacht's interior, while early work has commenced on the second yacht in the series.
The S1 model is one of four newly released NL-branded superyachts, including a 52-metre NL 50 Plus model, and two larger models known as the NL 60 Plus and NL 65 Plus.
The S1 model features a steel hull and aluminium frame and has been conceived for both range and speed. With naval architecture by Dutch studio Van Oossanen Naval Architects, the S1 features a stable and efficient hull shape allowing for a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
The finished S1 will feature a generous owner's suite on the bridge deck, main saloon complete with a balcony and large aft bathing platform leading into the beach club. The 499 GT yacht also houses enough room to store a 7.2-metre guest tender, two additional tenders and a jet ski.
According to a statement, the S1 model comes with the option of semi-customisable interiors with delivery of the first unit scheduled for 2024.
Nuvolari Lenard also revealed that the first 52-metre NL 50 Plus model is also under construction, while the two larger models remain in the design phase. More details surrounding the NL 60 Plus and NL 65 Plus models are expected to be released this summer.
"These are not simply design templates for a shipyard to build, but rather part of a holistic process from [...] design to delivery based on Nuvolari Lenard's extensive experience in directing the quality, level of finish, project approach and satisfaction of expectations," the studio said.
