Riva launches latest 102' Corsaro Super for Formula 1 racing driver Charles Leclerc

Italian shipyard Riva, a brand of Ferretti Group, has announced the launch of the 20th unit from its 102' Corsaro Super yacht series. The 30.2-metre yacht, now christened Sedici, hit the water at the yard's La Spezia facilities in the presence of her owner, Monegasque Formula 1 racing driver Charles Leclerc.

A repeat Riva owner, Leclerc once owned the 25-metre Riva 82 Diva, L'As Bleu (ex Sedici), now returning to the yard for his latest new build. The F1 driver's vessel of choice, the 102' Corsaro Super, is a sporty flybridge yacht which evolved from the yard's popular 100’ Corsaro model.

Officina Italiana Design returned to collaborate with the yard on the model (in another exclusive design partnership which has been ongoing for over 30 years), alongside the Group's Strategic Product Committee led by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Engineering Department.

The model is defined by a slender silhouette, with expansive glazing and a seamless continuity between interior spaces and exterior decks. According to the yard, the exterior of Sedici reflects the personal tastes of Leclerc, who handpicked the Minotti-designed furniture and furnishings, which are complemented by decorative cushions by Jim Thompson.

In terms of amenities, the flybridge is equipped with an open-air galley designed for entertaining, including a custom bar unit, an oversized grill, an induction hob, two fridges and an ice maker. Closer to the water, the beach club area aft spreads over 35 square metres and can be extended thanks to an inflatable platform for water toys, which is also complete with a swim ladder and a customised hauling ramp.

Inside, the contemporary interiors are just as personalised by the F1 driver, with furniture and furnishings chosen from designer Poliform. The yard noted that Leclerc's involvement in custom details even included the door handles. Bang & Olufsen audio/video systems have also been installed in the main lounge and the master suite for an "immersive multimedia experience".

The yard highlighted the master suite bathroom, which is decorated in polished Calacatta Vagli Oro marble to accentuate and open the space while providing a "sculptural feel". Meanwhile, for the guest bathrooms and surfaces, Corian Calacatta Greige was chosen. The bed linen, bath towels, beach towels, duvets and mattress toppers were selected by Frette, while the social and dining areas are decorated with Christofle tableware.

The first unit of the Riva 102 Corsaro Super was launched in 2022

Power for the yacht is from twin MTU 16V 2000 M96L EPA Tier III engines, offering a cruising speed of 24 knots and a top speed of 28 knots. She also features advanced stabilisation solutions, including Hydrotab Interceptor trim tabs, Sleipner Vector Fins and Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilisers to significantly reduce rolling both at anchor and underway.

“Charles’s passion for Riva, which is of course reciprocal, is a testament to quality and beauty that we welcome with boundless joy," said Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi. "If such a formidable driver and icon of style and elegance chooses once again one of our boats, it means that Riva, and in this case the magnificent 102’ Corsaro Super, offers unrivalled standards of beauty, liveability and technology. Many thanks once again, Charles, have fun and enjoy the water on your new Riva!"

According to BOATPro, Riva has 20 yachts over 24 metres on order or currently under construction, the largest of which is its new 70-metre flagship, the Riva 70 Metri.
