Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts has launched its latest 45-metre superyacht, the TX450, from its facilities in Genoa.
The new build hit the water at a celebratory ceremony attended by her owner – a highly experienced yachtsman from the Middle East – his family and team, alongside Tankoa's management and the yacht's build team.
The full-custom project was sold in 2021 as an evolution of the 45-metre Tankoa T450 conceived by Giorgio Cassetta of Cassetta Yacht Designers. The owner sought a sub-500GT new build which offered the volume, living areas and distribution of space typically found on a larger vessel, and worked closely alongside Cassetta to bring his vision to life.
The Italian design studio is behind both the exterior and interior design of the TX450, while naval architecture for the yacht was entrusted to Italian marine firm NAMES and engineering to inNave, in collaboration with the Tankoa Technical Department.
According to the yard, the interiors on board have been conceived around the way the owner intends to use the yacht. As such, she features a distinct layout with an additional deck and a wider beam than her predecessor, comprising living areas spanning the entire upper deck, guest cabins on the main deck (next to the owner's suite) and an enclosed bridge deck veranda.
The total accommodation is for up to 10 guests in five cabins, with additional accommodation on the lower deck, including a convertible cabin. She also features a dedicated gym and spa area on board.
The TX450 is equipped with a full hybrid propulsion system, combining conventional engines with electric motors and batteries. The result is a maximum speed (at half load) of 15 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots and zero-emission operation when running in full-electric mode. She can also remain at anchor overnight on battery power alone.

Following her launch, the yacht will now enter the final phase of construction, with sea trials and technical testing underway ahead of her delivery, which BOATPro anticipates for November this year.
The announcement comes not long after Tankoa Yachts celebrated the launch of its 51.5-metre custom superyacht project, the T52 Vitruvius Spirit.
