KRD Studio unveils 76m motor yacht concept with onboard IV drip lounge

German-based KRD Studio (formerly known as Katharina Raczek Design) has unveiled Amaris: a 76-metre motor yacht concept that aims to "reimagine what living well at sea could look like".

Developed in collaboration with Christian Leyk of Valencia-based coquine![design], the yacht has been designed with a focus on longevity and, as such, features dedicated spaces for wellness, including movement and physical training, recovery and regeneration, as well as nutrition and personalised health routines.

Among the wellness features is an IV drip lounge, which is curated in neutral tones and soft lighting, with a row of beds next to drips to deliver fluids and minerals directly into guests' bloodstreams.

Another feature on board is a dedicated Cryotherapy chamber, chosen as one of the amenities to aid muscle recovery, pain and inflammation relief, as well as overall mood. An "ammortal chamber" is also included in the longevity technology, offering a unique experience inside a futuristic, NASA-inspired holistic wellness and biohacking pod that is thought to support cellular energy, aid in skin rejuvenation and relax the nervous system.

“We didn’t want to design a yacht and then add longevity to it,” explained Katharina Raczek of KRD Studio. “We wanted to see what would happen to the yacht itself if longevity was part of the brief from the very beginning.”

Interior-wise, KRD has developed a minimalist, contemporary approach defined by a soft colour palette to emulate "calm, balance and restoration". Other features on board include circadian lighting to support the "natural rhythm of the day", while air quality and acoustics have also been thoughtfully incorporated into the interior experience. The studio notes that although the technology is sophisticated, the time spent at sea is intended to feel effortless.

The clean, architectural lines and generous open decks that define Amaris combine to create a balanced profile, resulting in a yacht with "plenty of space to enjoy what life at sea is all about".

KRD Studio believes many of the principles explored on board could eventually translate into private residences and luxury hospitality, with lessons learnt from the industry's demanding design environment able to be translated into the places where people spend more of their everyday lives.

Last year, the studio revealed the interiors of the 49.9-metre yacht Thanuja, which it reimagined in an extensive two-year rebuild.
