Turkish shipyard Turquoise Yachts has announced the launch of its 87.7-metre superyacht Angelique. Previously known as Project Vento, she is the shipyard's largest build in both length and volume and now stands as the largest yacht by volume built in Turkey to date, according to BOATPro

Characterised by soft lines, angled grilles and a hull finished in a striking "Tour de France" blue, Angelique features exterior and interior design by British studio H2 Yacht Design, in a long-lasting collaboration with the shipyard that spans 12 projects over 17 years. At 2,550GT, Angelique now surpasses Turquoise Yachts' previous flagship, 79-metre Nympheas (delivered last year), by almost 10 metres and 404GT.

The steel and aluminium new build was last spotted in 2023 en route to outfitting at the yard's Pendik facilities, where she has now been launched. She is scheduled for delivery to her owner this year, after which she will be exclusively available for charter with Edmiston this summer in the Mediterranean from €1,200,000 per week.

“Crowning more than 30 years of heritage, Vento is a remarkable achievement,” said CEO of Turquoise Yachts, Burak Akgül. “As the largest yacht ever built in Turkey, Vento reflects the collective expertise, dedication and passion applied to designing, engineering and crafting yachts at Turquoise. It is a testament to the extraordinary efforts of our team and valued solution partners, to whom we extend our sincere thanks.”

Highlights of the flagship include two Jacuzzis, expansive deck spaces and "one of the largest beach clubs in her class", which is complete with a drive-in tender docking system, fold-down terraces on both sides and illuminated from the pool skylights above. One of the yacht's defining features is her focus on wellness, which includes onboard amenities such as a full spa with a hammam and sauna, a panoramic bridge-deck gym and a glass-surround 6.5-metre swimming pool with contra-flow on the main deck.

Entertainment and outdoor living were also key aspects of the owner's brief. As such, Angelique features DJ facilities throughout, a golf simulator and a touch-and-go helipad that doubles as a basketball court when not in use. Her crowning glory, however, is the large sundeck that houses an informal seating and cooking area with teppanyaki and barbecue grills, an outdoor cinema, a bar and fixed sunpads around one of the two Jacuzzis.

Further entertaining space can be found in the main saloon, which is home to a statement bar and circular seating arrangement, alongside a circular formal dining table for 16 guests.

Angelique's interiors are said to reflect H2 Yacht Design’s "refined Art Deco approach", blending rich materials and curved details with an elegant and contemporary atmosphere. According to the shipyard, her interior was initially inspired by the shipyard's 77-metre Go. “Taking cues from Go, Vento features a rich, Art Deco–inspired interior that we’ve taken to another level,” explained founder of H2 Yacht Design, Jonny Horsfield. “We identified what the client was drawn to and evolved those ideas into something tailored to their tastes and how they live on board.” Blue accents and "glamorous detailing" are also worth noting.

Guest accommodation is for 12 guests across seven flexible cabins, including an owner's suite situated forward on a private deck, complete with a private television lounge area, his-and-hers dressing rooms, an office and an elevated breakfast table for views over the bow. On the same deck, there is a more relaxed saloon with a games table and a cinema screen, alongside a bar and dining area, which can be enclosed via sliding glass doors. Outside lies a forward private terrace with recessed seating and the second Jacuzzi.

Guest accommodation is across two VIPs, which can be converted into a "Super VIP", three doubles and one convertible, all located on the main deck, while crew accommodation sleeps 27. A lift serves all decks on board, though the highlight is the central open staircase-cum-atrium, which is host to a suspended sculpture by Dale Chihuly. A large array of tenders and water toys completes the package.

Key numbers include a 13.2-metre beam and a draught of 3.7 metres

Owner’s representation throughout the build was provided by Occam Marine. Co-founder Giles Frankal commented on the construction process: “The collaboration with Turquoise has been defined by transparency, shared commitment to excellence and a genuine spirit of partnership. Vento is set to be a striking testament to what can be achieved when shipyard and owner’s team work in true harmony.”

According to BOATPro, Turquoise Yachts currently has five yachts on order or under construction. The yard unveiled the in-build 81.3-metre project Rafale, also designed by H2 Yacht Design, at the Monaco Yacht Show last year.
