U.S. sportfish builder Weaver Boatworks has announced that hull No. 4 in its superyacht-size sportfish series is underway.

Designed to reach tournament trail high speeds, the 80ft Escapade will be powered by twin 2,600hp MTU M94s, giving her a max speed of 45 knots and a cruise speed of 38 knots. A "slow cruise" of 30 knots will allow her to burn only 105 gallons of fuel per hour. Donald L. Blount and Associates designed the hull form, and she is constructed in cold-moulded wood.

Escapade will accommodate 12 in a full-beam master, two VIP staterooms and a cabin with four bunks. She is due to launch November 2013. Weaver's latest launch is 85ft Mantra, currently fishing in the Indian Ocean and Seychelles, and also underway is the 75ft Happy Daze due to launch in fall 2014.
