Known as 'China’s largest water yacht exhibition', the four-day 2012 China (Xiamen) International Boat Show was successfully concluded at Xiamen Marina this week.

According to the organising committee, a total of 33 boats were sold during the exhibition, with a trading volume of more than RMB210 million, up 18 percent and 17 percent respectively compared to last year’s figures.

A Majesty 105, the largest yacht sold at this year’s show, fetched RMB65 million. Over 10 percent of exhibitors secured orders during this year’s boat show, bucking the trend amid global economic woes. Buyers were mostly from within Fujian, with others from Sanya, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Beijing, Henan and Shaanxi, according to the organisers.

More than 40,000 visitors attended the show, which boasted an on-shore exhibition area of 30,000 square meters and a water show area of 20,000 square meters, where 351 berths were set up for yachts from all over the world.
