Dutch builder Holterman Shipyard has launched a new refit department, named Holterman Refit.
The shipyard has undertaken numerous refit and maintenance projects in the past, including the iconic J-Class sailing yacht Hanuman, which began her seven-month stint in May 2024. The new division will enable the team to take on more complex and demanding projects up to 50 metres in length.
"While the refit operation has in the past been low-key, we are able to draw on a talented in house team of engineers, carpenters, craftsmen and project managers, and we take a straight-line approach to communication between the owner’s and the shipyard’s teams," said Tim Wedzings, Holterman's refit manager. "It’s a minimal management approach with an emphasis on detailed planning that ensures a seamless refit, where multiple trades can work concurrently."

"Holterman Refit is the next logical step in our continued evolution."
Holterman Shipyard is known primarily for its new builds, including its X-Treme range which debuted with Lady Fleur. The 32.7-metre superyacht went on to win a BOAT International Design & Innovation Award and be nominated for a World Superyacht Award.
