Wondering where to party into the New Year this winter? From Barbados to St Barths, we round up the best party hotspots, clubs, restaurants and bars in the Caribbean to visit in the New Year and start 2020 with a bang.
Barbados
The hometown of Bajan pop-star Rihanna is famous not only for its party and carnival scenes, but for the exceptional rum that fuels the island's fun-filled evenings. Both locals and visitors can be found at Oistins Fish Fry on a Friday night, enjoying flame-grilled swordfish, marlin, mahi-mahi or flying fish while a live band belts out reggae and calypso tunes along the strip.
If it's a Saturday, head over to St Lawrence Gap, where a number of great nightclubs can be found. Favourites include The Cove, which plays mellow Caribbean tunes mixed with R&B, or the Old Jamm Inn, which offers a diverse selection of DJs and live music from jazz to soca. For drinks, locals recommend the smooth dark rum produced by Barbados' oldest distillery, Mount Gay, which was founded way back in 1703. A shot of this in your fruit punch should start the night off just right.
