Real Madrid footballer Cristiano Ronaldo loves nothing more than a luxury vacation, and he has reportedly decided to share the love by giving his agent, Jorge Mendes, a Greek island as a wedding present.
Cristiano Ronaldo took a break from summer training with Real Madrid to act as best man for Jorge Mendes as he married Sandra Mendes in front of 400 guests in the Foz do Douro neighbourhood of Porto on Sunday (August 2). If reports from the Portuguese press are to believed, then Ronaldo opted to show his joy at their marriage by giving the bride and groom their own private Greek island.
The exact location of the island or how much he paid for it has not yet been disclosed, but the purchase price is likely to be somewhere between €3m and €50m.
The island is expected to be one of a host for sale as Greece tries to solve its financial issues. Islands are just one of many huge things you can buy to help bailout Greece.
With the island being based in the country’s azure waters, perhaps superyacht fan Ronaldo will pay him a visit while enjoying a luxury yacht charter in Greece and the Greek Islands.
The Portuguese footballer is one of many sport stars recently spotted on luxury yacht vacations and this year has taken time out in both the French Riviera and Dubai on a yacht. For the time being though, it is back to work for Ronaldo with Real Madrid’s opening La Liga game taking place on August 23.
