If you're searching for a way to fill time between the end of the Med season and when the Caribbean really hots up, look no further than the Salon Privé car show at Blenheim Palace, UK.
Now in its 11th year, Salon Privé comprises a range of events including the Salon Privé Supercar Show, Concours d’Elegance, Tour d’Elegance, Concepts & Prototypes Display and the Pirelli Prestige & Performance competition making it one of the largest and broadest car events in the world.
The highlight of 2016’s show will be the global debut of the Morgan EV3 UK 1909 Edition - the most exciting automotive news since the unveiling of Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing's AM-RB 001 hypercar. Designed in collaboration with Selfridges department store, only 19 of these hand-produced cars will be made with pre-release teasers promising a combination of classic British style and cutting edge zero-emission technology.
Elsewhere both big name and niche supercar brands, including Ferrari, Bentley, Lamborghini, Tesla and Spyker, will have their newest models on display and available to test drive. Those who wish to see the cars in action without getting behind the wheel shouldn't miss the Pirelli Prestige & Performance competition. Billed as a modern-day Concours d’Elegance, the contest will see 80 of the best new supercars manufactured after 1976 compete across eight whimsically titled classes, including ‘Wind in Your Hair’ and ‘How Fast is Fast Enough?’
Classic car lovers will also be well catered for with the likes of Porsche, Tom Hartley and Dick Lovett all displaying vintage models. A more traditional Concours d’Elegance will also be judged by five-time Le Mans winner Derek Ball and offer separate classes for V12 Ferraris, Lamborghini Miuras, motorcycles and ‘80s Dream Machines’.
Away from the cars, guests can also indulge in a spot of shopping with luxury brands including Boodles – sponsors of the event’s Ladies Day – Bang & Olufsen, Canali and Riva all present within the palace’s beautiful grounds.
Salon Privé takes place at Blenheim Palace from September 1-3, 2016. Visit salonpriveconcours.com for tickets and information.
